I Hope You're Ready to Get Sick and Die
I'm really enjoying the impending flu pandemic. You've probably already seen this, but I'm going to share it anyway: some guy made a Google Map of flu cases worldwide. It's pretty good; I've duplicated it on the whiteboard in my room along with infection and fatality counts from the Wikipedia article. If you're concerned, you can always purchase a stylish face mask to wear around and creep people out. I saw a guy riding the bus in a face mask the other day, so you'd better hurry if you want to be cool.
The WHO upgraded this mess to pandemic phase 5 today, which means imminent doom. In light of this, I've started receiving updates from the CDC on my phone via twitter. It's really only useful because they periodically post case counts in the United States. Like yesterday, when I found out that there are two confirmed cases here in Michigan (only one is anywhere near me) and 51 in New York. Don't go to New York.
It's Worse than Bombing
I just read a neat article about rent control in New York. Read it!
Also, I have a twitter account now, so hooray for me. It's over there →
